As a shop, we knew TODA for their contributions to the S2000 platform. We were quite pleased to see that they also made quite a few products for the FA20 as well. Despite the temptations to fill the cart with all these cool racing parts, we wanted to stay true to the philosophy we had for our GR86; a well balanced street car that can go straight to the track on the weekends. Which is why we took the small step instead and opted for their Ojisama clutch.
The kit itself includes a flywheel, clutch disk, pressure plate, and pressure plate hardware.
After removing the original, factory clutch, we tossed it on the scale to see how much it weighs. The factory clutch comes in at 35.2 pounds whereas the TODA clutch weights at about 29.6 pounds. That's a 5.6 pound difference! The weight savings was not nearly as much as we thought it would be, but you gotta shed some weight wherever you can!
Overall, the clutch meets our expectations when compared to the S2000 variant: a performance capable clutch that doesn't impede on daily driving. The pedal feels just a tad lighter when engaging.
